'The King and The Queen': Madonna shares throwback photo with Michael Jackson ahead of fifth anniversary of pop legend's death

And on Saturday, less than one month before the fifth anniversary of the King of Pop's passing, Madonna shared an Instagram photo of the two of them together.
The 55-year-old songstress captioned the photo 'The King And Queen' alongside the memorial throwback.The photo was taken back in 1991, at David Geffen's birthday party.
Madonna is wearing a black and white polka-dot dress, and her cropped bright blonde tresses are pulled into a side-part.
Red lipstick accentuates her radiant face as she stands beside the famed pop star, who wraps an arm around her.

Speaking of the Billie Jean hitmaker, who touched lives and hearts worldwide as he made his mark on music history, she revealed details of their friendship during a Rolling Stone interview not long later.
'I was madly in love with him, totally smitten,' she said of the legend himself. 'He was mind-bogglingly talented.'
She told the publication that they first met in the early 1980s when they had the same manager, and they became friends and began doing some song writing together.

As to what they did when they spent time together, Madonna revealed that they were 'watching movies, having dinner, hanging out, going to the Oscars, being silly, seeing if we could work.

After decades of moving the world with his music, Michael Jackson died of a cardiac arrest, reportedly triggered by acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication.
Madonna's son David Banda seems to be modeling himself after Michael too, as his famous mother posted a video of him dancing in the bathroom and striking a few signature MJ moves.
