A representative for the Jackson Estate has vehemently denied the tax accusations. "The Estate used independent, nationally-recognized and highly-qualified expert appraisers in determining the value of the Estate’s assets. By contrast, the IRS consultant’s values are not based on standard appraisal methodology, but rather are speculative and erroneous assumptions unsupported by the facts or law,” read a statement from the representative. “The Estate has paid over $100 Million dollars in taxes and is in full compliance with the tax laws."
If a court finds the Jackson Estate is found to truly owe the IRS this sum, it would wipe out more than everything the Estate has earned since Jackson’s death and be financially devastating for his children. The Jackson family had filed a billion dollar lawsuit last year against concert promoter AEG Live, claiming that they were responsible for his death. However, a court ruled last October that the insurance company was not liable and the family has not pursued further legal action.

Michael’s daughter, Paris, has been dealing with her own issues as of late. The teenager has been residing at a therapeutic boarding school in Utah after a suicide attempt last year. She is reportedly doing well in the new environment, but could remain there for several more years.
