The 16-year-old eldest child of the late pop superstar Michael Jackson took to the water in a kayak wearing a pair of blue swim trunks and a red safety vest as he and some pals enjoyed the sunshine on Christmas Eve.


Despite a tumultuous year for the family, which saw his younger sister slashing her wrists in early June, Prince appeared to be in good spirits, laughing and joking with his friends.

Even taking a tumble into the water didn't dampen his spirits and Prince gamely climbed back into the vessel.
The teenager's board shorts showed the logo of the Gracie Academy in Beverly Hills where he practices Brazilian jiu-jitsu along with his younger 11-year-old brother Blanket.

Prince and Blanket arrived in Hawaii on Monday along with their cousins Jermajesty and Jaafar, a few family friends and their bodyguards.

The Christmas vacation is also a reunion for Prince and Blanket with their 15-year-old sister Paris who flew to the island on Saturday.

Prince and his siblings have gone through a great deal of turmoil since their famous father's untimely death from an overdose in 2009 and the vacation will no doubt be a welcome respite for them all.


In a forthcoming documentary Remembering Michael Jackson the bereaved youngsters open up about devastating repercussions following their famous father's sudden death.


They also speak about their struggle to cope without him.

Paris has been a resident of a $14,000 per month therapeutic private school in Utah following her June suicide attempt.

The teenager was temporarily released from the school and flew to Hawaii to join her family for the holidays.

Paris, however, won't return to her family home during the break due to fears she may not want to return to the school for troubled teens.

The middle child of Michael Jackson was admitted to the school in July after slashing her wrists and taking pills in early June.
