FINALMENTE È UFFICIALE:
NON È STATO MICHAEL JACKSON A SCRIVERE
"DO THE BARTMAN"
La leggenda circola da decenni, e solo ora è stata ufficialmente smentita: NON è stato il Re del Pop a scrivere "Do the Bartman".
La canzone, che come singolo uscì nei primi mesi del 1991 arrivando al numero 1 delle classifiche britanniche ed era inclusa in "The Simpsons Sing the Blues", primo album di canzoni connesse ai cartoni animati di Matt Groening, è in effetti frutto del talento di Bryan Loren. Lo si è indubitabilmente stabilito ora che il catalogo dei brani firmati da Loren (che comprende anche canzoni cantate da Whitney Houston e Barry White) è stato venduto a un editore musicale. "Do the Bartman" è stata valutata 40.000 dollari.
Le voci di un coinvolgimento nella composizione di Michael Jackson erano iniziate in seguito a una dichiarazione di Groening, che anni fa avrebbe detto ad alcuni fan: "Quel che mi sorprende è che non sia mai stato scoperto che quella canzone l'ha scritta Michael Jackson": fatto che, secondo le teorie poi abbondantemente circolate, non poteva essere rivelato per una questione di conflitti fra case discografiche.
Ha detto Loren:
"Questa faccenda è una spina nel fianco da anni. Ma, nonostante quel che avrebbe detto Matt Groening, sono io il solo e unico autore della canzone. La cosa vera è invece che Michael Jackson, insieme a me, ha cantato nei cori del pezzo, e che l'idea di intitolarla 'Do the Bartman' è stata sua, così come quella di inserire il suo nome nel testo del brano"

"Ci saranno altri album"
Sei anni dopo la morte i fan di Michael Jackson possono ancora sognare di sentire nuovi brani della popstar. Michael Durham Prince, ingegnere del suono di Jackson, ha dichiarato in un'intervista al quotidiano francese Parisien che nel suo computer ci sono venti brani inediti incompiute. "Non ho il diritto di dare i titoli a queste canzone, nè a farle sentire - ha dichiarato l'ingegnere del suono che era anche suo caro amico tanto da ispirare a Jacko la scelta del nome per il figlio Prince - ma posso assicurare che esistono e che prima o poi ci saranno altri album".
Non c'è solo l'aspetto dei diritti che impediscono a Prince di pubblicare questi brani. "Le canzoni così come sono state registrate non posso essere pubblicate, c'è del lavoro da fare. Michael non cantava i ritornelli nei demo, quindi sarà necessario trovare qualcuno che possa cantarli.
Saranno inevitabilmente dei duetti". Prince è ottimista per quel che riguarda il futuro: "Penso che avremo degli altri album, ma per il momento l'idea è piuttosto quella di svelare nuovi brani ogni sei mesi".

Janet Jackson is having a good week—on Sunday, the star was named Ultimate Icon at the 2015 BET Awards and, well, now we're taking a look at her iconic (see what we did there?) red carpet and on-stage style.
The singer has been known to wear a wild ensemble or two for her live performances, but her red carpet motif reads surprisingly demure. Janet often opts for simple, clingy white gowns, and she won't shy from an effortless LBD either.
When Jackson does choose pops of color for the carpet, she goes all out: Like the pink-to-violet ombré kimono she sported to an Alexander McQueen event in 2008. We also loved the jewel-toned Haider Ackermann get-up she wore to the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala in 2011.

The late Michael Jackson may be returning to video games in the forthcoming Disney Infinity 3.0 due out later this year. It has been over 25 years since Moonwalker, the last video game Michael Jackson appeared in based off his 1980’s film of the same name.

John Vignocchi, the VP of Production at Disney Infinity tweeted above that, if successful in his endeavors, we will see Captain EO as part of Disney Infinity 3.0.
Visitors to Disneyland or Epcot in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s may remember the 3D film featured at the two parks. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather, Apocalypse Now) and produced by George Lucas (Star Wars), Captain EO is a 1986 3D science fiction film that starred Michael Jackson as the titular character. The film was shown at Epcot and Disneyland starting in September, 1986. It ran at Epcot until 1994 and Disneyland until 1998 where it was replaced by Honey, I Shrunk The Audience at both locations. Following Michael Jackson’s death in 2009, Disney brought back the 3D film with a remastered picture from 2010 until earlier this year when both locations closed.
The film itself tells the story of Captain EO and his ragtag crew delivering a gift to the “The Supreme Leader” played by Angelica Houston. Upon landing at the Supreme Leader’s planet it is revealed to be nothing but twisted metal and steaming vents in the classic dirty sci-fi look popular in the 1980’s. Captain EO and his crew deliver the gift of telling the Supreme Leader, who looks like a Disney version of the Xenomorph from Alien, that there is beauty inside of her. A crazy dance infused battle ensues and to the music of “We Are Here To Change The World.” When the music fades, the leader is transformed into a youthful Angelica Houston with the planet transformed into a lush, green paradise. The film boasted a $1.7 million a minute budget for it’s 30 min length which also employed 3D technology for the theatre including lasers, smoke clouds, and so on.
Disney Interactive has struck gold with its Infinity franchise. The sandbox game is sold with figures that sit on a base and are able to played with in the game. An example is if you own the Jack Skellington figure, you can play as Jack Skellington in some of the game’s modes. Having a character with a possible play set based around Michael Jackson’s Captain EO would be another killer IP to bring into the Disney Infinity lineup, which already includes the Marvel and Star Wars universe as the Inquisitr covered previously. Disney Infinity 3.0 is slated to release in 2015 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC.

Jason Derulo has definitely got Michael Jackson on the brain!
The "Want to Want Me" singer has unveiled the Syndrome-directed video for his new '80s-inspired single, "Cheyenne," which pays tribute to none other than the King of Pop with a zombie-fied dance sequence that just screams "Thriller. " Watch below.
"I wanted to take it back to when music videos had a huge concept and a huge dance break," Derulo said on Good Morning America earlier this month. "The video is kind of like [the movie] The Haunting. Cheyenne is haunting my mind and she haunts me within the video."
MJ isn't the only Jackson that Derulo is honoring these days. On Sunday, the So You Think You Can Dance judge appeared on the BET Awards for a special Janet Jackson tribute performance with Ciara and Tinashe

Il Re del Pop è qui. Ancora qui. Sempre qui. E’ morto 6 anni fa - il 25 giugno del 2009 in circostanze rimaste misteriose - eppure Michael Jackson continua ad essere fonte d’ispirazione per artisti affermati, emergenti e ragazzi che sognano di diventare delle star. Per i suoi brani, in primis. Ma anche per il suo stile, i suoi acuti, il suo look, i suoi passi di danza diventati marchio di fabbrica e il suo impegno nel sociale (ambiente e bambini) nonostante i processi (presunta pedofilia) e quell’immagine offuscata dalla mostruosa trasformazione della pelle e del naso. Eppure Jacko, un po’ come i Grandi Maledetti del pop e del rock (da Jimi Hendrix e Janis Joplin, passando per Jim Morrison e Amy Winehouse) è ancora un limone da spremere e una gallina dalle uova d’oro oltre che un continuo viaggio nel mondo onorico rappresentato dalla sua storia. Un ragazzino vissuto nello squallore e nella violenza, il padre abusava di lui e lo prendeva in giro per il suo faccione tondo che, dopo l’esplosione con i Jackson 5, ha scalato da solo le hit diventando un’icona senzatempo.
LE INFLUENZE
Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean, Beat it, Black or white, Liberian girl, Man in the mirror, Smooth criminal e We are the world (da lui scritta insieme a Lionel Richie, quest’anno ricorrono 30 anni esatti) sono solo alcuni dei pezzi che hanno mille anime: soul, gospel, funky, blues, R’n’B, rock. Mai tanta contaminazione e influenze erano state utilizzate, in chiave moderna, da altri artisti del passato. Mai nessuno aveva osato toccare le corde dei Mostri Sacri restando ancorati al presente e sfidando i suoni del futuro. Con oltre un miliardo di dischi venduti e con Thriller (1982) album più venduto di sempre, Jackson viene soprannominato il Re del Pop. E, in parte, lo è ancora oggi. I dischi postumi (Michael nel 2010, Exscape nel 2014), lanciati ad arte nel nome del dio denaro che con la musica fa più affari con i morti che con i vivi, hanno comunque toccato le vette delle hit parade di mezzo mondo.

Dici MJ, pensi anche ai dollari. Al giro d’affari che ancora muove il suo nome. In rete proliferano siti che mettono in vendita o all’asta gadget di ogni tipo: poster, cd e vecchi dischi, magliette, spille, cappellini. E band che propongono cover o medley inediti. Proprio domani a Milano arriva per la prima volta, con il suo Michael Jackson live tribute show, Sergio Cortes al Linear4Ciak. Accompagnato da una band live e da un corpo di ballo composto da 8 elementi, Cortes porterà in scena i più grandi successi di Michael Jackson, da Dangerous a Billie Jean e Thriller, da Smooth criminal a Heal the world in uno spettacolo di oltre due ore pieno di effetti scenici. Sono tanti i cantanti che vogliono essere Jacko. Non lo ha mai nascosto Justin Timberlake, tanto da essere riuscito a inventarsi un duetto nel 2014 (Love never felt so good) grazie alla tecnologia digitale. Oggi però, chi fa più il verso al King of pop è Bruno Mars: impressionante la somiglianza vocale, imbarazzante l’espressività, a tratti incredibile il modo in cui si muove. While most 17-year-olds are shopping for prom dresses, Paris Jackson may be on the hunt for a wedding dress.
Why? Paris' boyfriend, 18-year-old soccer player Chester Castellaw, has given the Jackson heir a "diamond friendship ring," a source tells In Touch. Plus, Castellaw has won over her relatives, including her uncle Jermaine, aunt Janet and cousin TJ (her uncle Tito’s 36-year-old son).
“Paris has been through a lot,” a insider tells In Touch. “But now she’s happier than ever, and the family knows that’s largely because of Chester.”
In addition to the tragic 2009 death of her father Michael Jackson, Paris spent a month in a hospital following a June 2013 suicide attempt, followed by time in a residential treatment center.

And Castellaw has been key in helping Paris rebound. “Jermaine thinks they are a perfect match and fully approves of a wedding,” the source says.
Adds the source: “TJ actually spends a lot of time with Paris and Chester because he is often out with them and the family’s security team, and he’s told them he doesn’t think Paris is moving too fast. Janet’s also given her stamp of approval.”
But there is concern in the Jackson clan about the couple marrying. Paris' brother Blanket, 13, is less than thrilled about their potential nuptials, for example.
“He already feels like he gets no attention,” the source says. “Now everyone is excited about Paris’ love affair, and it’s making him feel even more neglected.”

Blanket Jackson has changed his name after years of bullying. And along with the other children of legendary singer Michael, Blanket Jackson hopes that his new name will give him a fresh start on life, reported Radar Online.
Initially named Michael Jackson Jr. before getting the name Blanket, the seventh grader no longer can tolerate the bullying and teasing linked to his unusual name.
A teenager, Blanket now wants to be called Bigi. He The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, an elite academy in California. But that prestige for the institution doesn’t change the bullying, said a source.
“[Jackson] changed his name informally from Blanket to Bigi before entering Buckley because he hated getting bullied and made fun of because his name was Blanket,” said the source.
The name’s meaning includes inspirational, sensitive and idealistic, according to Radar Online.

L’indimenticato e indimenticabile Re del Pop continua a essere omaggio di tributi (anche di parodie) da parte di cantanti e altre star: vi siete persi Russel Crowe che fa il verso a Michael Jackson che gli faceva scherzi telefonici?
Il prossimo 25 giugno ricorreranno 6 anni dalla morte di Michael Jackson: il tempo passa, ma la leggenda continua, sia attraverso la musica del Re del Pop, sia attraverso i continui omaggi di altri musicisti.
L’ultimo è stato Mac DeMarco, che ha pubblicato il videoclip del singolo Another One, che è la titletrack del suo ultimo Ep, in cui esibisce una maschera – piuttosto inquietante, a dirla tutta – che riproduce proprio le fattezze di Michael.
DeMarco, appunto, è solo l’ultimo di una lunga lista di omaggi tributati da altre star, che, ciascuno a proprio modo, ha celebrato la memoria di Michael Jakson: c’è chi ne ha fatto l’imitazione (come quella straordinaria di Bruno Mars), chi ne ha raccontato gli scherzi telefonici, come ha fatto Russel Crowe.

L’irascibile attore ha allegramente raccontato allo staff di TMZ gli scherzi telefonici che anni prima gli faceva il Re del Pop, che lo chiamava imitandone la voce burbera e poi scoppiava a ridere tornando al suo registro e confessando: “Hey Russel, sono io, Michael”.
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
Il cantante, che ha prodotto e cantato il brano Love Never Felt So Good, contenuto nell’album postumo di Jackson, Xscape, si è esibito in una performance-parodia con il padrone di casa Jimmy Fallon.

Joe and Katherine Jackson don't get together often, but they put aside their differences to celebrate Michael Jackson's firstborn graduating from high school.
According to our sources, the family shindig for Prince Jackson went down Saturday afternoon at Joe's house in Encino. We're told it was a small gathering -- about 35 people or so -- with Prince's aunts, uncles and cousins making up most of the crowd.
The party was catered, but just typical party food ... nothing too fancy ... especially considering how filthy rich the guest of honor is. Uncle Jackie and Grandpa Joe made speeches, along with Prince.
Prince graduated Saturday from the exclusive Buckley School -- and says he's going to LMU School of Film and Television ... following in the footsteps of other celeb kids Colin Hanks and Scott Eastwood.
