Michael Jackson's ex Debbie Rowe breaks down during interview

MICHAEL Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe has cried during a taped interview for a US TV show.

She also lashed out at those who let the star die.

The former nurse, who now helps run a horse ranch in California, struggled to contain her emotions in an interview with Entertainment Tonight when asked for her thoughts about her former husband's 2009 drug-related death.

Rowe, the mother of Jackson's older children Prince Michael and Paris, said too many people had turned their backs on Jackson when he needed their help as his drug dependency spiralled out of control.

"All the people that claim to be so close to him, not one person tried to stop it," she said.

"If I know something's wrong, I'm gonna try to stop it."

Rowe said she would have liked someone to have used the media to shine a light on Jackson's problems.

"There were more people involved that saw him falling apart. God forbid one of them take out a camera (sic) ... and give it (footage) to someone like Entertainment Tonight and stop it. I think they were too selfish."

The usually reclusive Rowe said she had fond memories of Jackson: "He told me my life was going to change and it did and he's taken such good care of me." WENN tab/km
