Michael Jackson wrongful death trial: Katherine Jackson leaves courtroom before jury is shown photo of pop star's corpse

Richard Senneff took the stand in the suit against concert giant AEG by Jackson’s mother Katherine.

Michael Jackson's mother walked out of the courtroom Tuesday, unwilling to view a photo of her son's ghostly white corpse in the back of an ambulance.

Emotions ran high in the wrongful death trial against concert promoter AEG Live — and the drama peaked when the 82-year-old Jackson matriarch stood and walked out of Los Angeles Superior Court as testimony turned to the last harrowing moments of her 50-year-old son's life.

She appeared stoic as she exited the room on the arm of son, Randy, just moments before her attorney showed jurors a ghastly photo of first-responders trying hopelessly to save the singer's life.

The shot, taken by a bystander through the window of an ambulance rushing Jackson from his rented Beverly Hills home on June 25, 2009, shows the moon-walking entertainer with his eyes closed, a breathing bag strapped to his face and a paramedic trying to manually pump air into his lifeless body.

Paramedic Richard Senneff, the first witness in the trial, testified that Jackson likely died before the ambulance crew reached him three minutes after getting the fateful 911 call.

Senneff said he initially mistook the “Thriller” singer for a hospice patient, saying Jackson resembled someone who had suffered a long-term “chronic” illness.

"The patient looked very pale, very, very underweight," Senneff said. "I could see his ribs. To me he looked like someone who was at the end-stage of a long disease process."

The jury of six men and six women sat with rapt attention, some jotting notes, as Senneff detailed the futile resuscitation effort.

"His pupils were fully dilated, fixed and dilated," Senneff said. "His eyes themselves were quite dry. It was a sign some time had passed” since Jackson died.

Katherine Jackson and Michael's three children — Prince, 16, Paris, 15, and 11-year-old Blanket — are suing AEG Live, charging it prompted the superstar's death by hiring Dr. Conrad Murray, the reckless, debt-ridden cardiologist now jailed for killing him.

Senneff said when he got to the house, a frantic Murray was moving Michael from the bed to the floor. He said Murray claimed Jackson was undergoing treatment for dehydration and exhaustion when he abruptly stopped breathing minutes earlier.

"To us, it didn't make sense that it had just happened," said Senneff, who has been a first-responder for 28 years. "His skin was very cool to the touch. What that meant to me again was that time had elapsed."

Senneff, who testified at Murray’s trial in 2011, said the Dr. Feelgood was unwilling to declare death even after hospital officials concluded further lifesaving measures were useless.

He said Murray never mentioned Propofol despite being questioned about drugs Jackson ingested.

He also recalled how he returned to Michael's bedroom for his equipment as the ambulance got ready to leave and found Murray "picking things up of the floor" and shoving unknown items in a plastic bag.

"When I came through the door, he froze," Senneff told jurors. "He was obviously surprised to see someone come in."

Murray is currently a four-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter.

The Jackson heirs claim AEG failed to properly investigate and supervise Murray — who was being paid $150,000 a month to be Michael's tour doctor — and should be held liable for the singer’s death.

AEG has denied any wrongdoing.

An AEG lawyer told jurors Monday that Michael personally hired Murray — and Jackson promised to pay back the doctor's extravagant salary.

Lawyer Marvin Putnam said AEG had no idea the doctor was administering Propofol in Michael's bedroom during pre-production of his big "This Is It" comeback tour.

But the Jacksons' attorneys countered the company not only knew, but ruthlessly ignored all red flags about Michael's health because they wanted the show to go on at any cost.
