THE British godfather of Michael Jackson’s kids has warned their increasing spells in the spotlight might turn them into “performing monkeys”.

Oliver! actor Mark Lester spoke out after Jacko’s daughter Paris, 15, gave her first mag interview at the weekend.

The superstar’s son Prince, 16, has already started a career as a TV showbiz host. And both youngsters — as well as brother Blanket, 11 — are interested in acting.

There has even been talk of a reality show.

But Mark, 54, who was a close pal of Jacko, said: “Pushing them into the spotlight is definitely not going to make them happy.

“They’re going to feel like they have to emulate their father, which is never going to happen.

“When the kids get older they will be able to make their own decisions. But to risk treating them like performing monkeys when they’re so young is wrong.”

Dad-of-four Mark found fame in 1968 when, aged just ten, he played Oliver in the hit movie.

He became mates with Jacko in 1982 and was at Blanket’s birth. But since Jacko’s death in 2009 he has been cut off from the star’s kids. Mark, speaking from his Cotswolds home, said: “The sad fact is they’ve been isolated from many of the people they used to spend time with.”

He confirmed he is one of at least three men who could be the biological dad of Paris and Prince — as he donated sperm before their birth to mother Debbie Rowe.
