Lawyers fear a judge’s decision to ban TV cameras from an LA Superior Court hearing will harm the family’s £31billion civil suit.

And they are worried it will lead to a “digging the dirt” examination of the tragic star’s bizarre lifestyle – especially when son Paris, 16, and daughter Paris, 14, take the stand.

A source said last night: “We feel that with the world not watching, the kids will get a rough ride.

“The defence counsel’s approach is likely be far more aggressive.

“There may be lots of questions about Michael’s child molestation court cases and how he behaved when he was on drugs.”

The source added: “It could be stomach churning stuff.”

Jacko’s other son, Prince Michael ll, 11 – nicknamed Blanket – was just seven when his dad died at 50 in 2009 and may not give evidence.

Jurors were being sworn in last week for the suit against AEG Live.

The promoters are accused of negligently hiring Dr Conrad Murray – the personal medic sentenced to four years in 2011 for Jacko’s involuntary manslaughter by administering the surgical anaesthetic Propofol.

The family, led by Jacko’s mother Katherine, 82, also claim AEG tried to push the star into a tour that he was not physically capable of handling.

The case, due to start later this month, is expected to last about three months.

AEG deny all allegations.
